60. Source of Acne Checklist: 19 Possible Causes of Acne

Dirty bed sheets ?
If you were zonked with acne problem, pay close attention to your environment.

Check that:
  1. You are between 12 - 19 years old, or in your thirties
  2. Your parents used to have acne problems when they were teenagers
If this is the case, change your facial wash to the one that can reduce oil. Try for one to two months, and if you still have breakouts, don't use moisturiser. Just apply a non-oily sunblock directly.
  3. You touch your face too often, or you scratch your face with dirty hands
I really suggest that you don't touch your face, unless it's face wash time. If you're sweaty, use a face tissue to wipe the sweat off your face gently. Don't overdo it though, you'll remove the sun protection you applied this morning.
  4. You use face powder, and not cleansed it properly.
Forget face powder, just use non-oily sunblock right away.
  5. You use make ups, and never bother to clean your face properly, because you wanna be polished all the time.
Do you think that by not cleaning your face, you'll get to office faster? Can you risk your face loses its freshness faster?

You clean your face from all make ups, so your face can breathe and relax for a while.
  6. You think your face pores are getting bigger, making dirt to come in easily
Wash your face more often. Don't worry too much.

If you're afraid you'll produce more oil, as long as it doesn't cause breakouts, it's fine. The skin will get used to your washing face often. You're growing. The oil shall stop producing later.

Oil keeps your skin moisturised, so you'll stay young longer. Like I said, don't worry too much. For now, just keep your skin clean all the time. Don't let any dirt sticking to your oily face, gets inside your face.

Remember you have bigger pores, so dead skin cells might join the dirty oil. Clean your face as often as you wash your hands. Do you have acne popping out of your hands? No. That's right.
  7. You pass dusty / unclean / polluted territory(s) from time to time
If this is part of your job, try to cover your face with a medical mask. Don't forget to use cap, so it can cover your forehead part.
  8. You forgot to change your medical mask everyday
  9. You haven't changed your bed sheets since two weeks ago
  10. You haven't changed your blankets since two weeks ago
  11. You haven't washed your face for days
Normally you have to wash your face at least twice daily.
  12. You haven't washed your hair since two days ago
  13. Your hair is having a great time waving on your face skin
Sometimes, the tips of your hair can pick up dirt and plug it on the pores of your skin. Just lengthen your hair to a certain length where you can tie it together, away from your face. You can use bandanna temporarily. Otherwise, go bald.
  14. You recently ate a lot of oily food
Don't eat oily food ever again. It's bad for you anyway. Drink a lot of water.

You should try touching the food with your hand. After that, try cleaning it only with water. Try cleaning it with lemon water too. I don't know why, I just hate you now. Don't, please, don't eat oily food. See how much water you need to get your hands clean. [sigh]
  15. You sweat a lot recently
A small towel might come in handy.
  16. You have a lot of things going on your mind recently
You know what to do, go on vacation.
  17. You are in your period, or your period schedule is close, or your period has just come to an end
Learn to accept and live with it. Don't pinch or touch the acne. Cover them with bandage if you like, but let it heal naturally. Yes, you still have to wash your face, fool.
  18. The water you consume isn't of good quality
  19. The tap water you use to wash your face isn't transparent in colour
Buy drinking water to wash your face.
