23. The Importance of Potassium / Kalium to Elderlies

Potassium has a unique salty taste (very different from the common salt / sea salt). Banana contains potassium, and when you eat banana; that salty taste, is the taste of potassium. Chemically, scientists will burn plants / trees to ashes, pour water, and distil the result to get potassium element. That is why, they call it potassium, because the element is derived from pot-ash, or plants' ashes.

The salt in banana (read: potassium) does not exist because of plant's growth, but because of calcination process. Scientists used to burn plants with very limited oxygen, to decompose the elements. This process of burning plants with no air, is called calcination. The product of calcination is called Alkali. That is why, some scientists call the element as Potassium, and some scientists in Germany call the element as Kalium.

Let's call potassium / kalium as banana to make it easier to imagine our body's digestion process. Banana is a bit salty, right? Now, this unique salt in banana enters our body. The salt (denser liquid) and the mineral water from our body reacts to one another, and makes the salty blood (containing banana crumbles) moves across the body. This in turn, can increase our blood circulation. Smooth blood circulation in our body can make our heart beats in a normal periodical pace, not too fast and not too slow. It can also increase the thought process, especially for elderlies, who forget things easier.

Our kidney can also absorb this salt automatically (because the salt is denser), and then when this salt enters our kidney, it gets filtered away along with other elements that comprise of small particles. That is why, our pee is a bit salty.

Missing potassium in our body, may slow down blood circulation, and slow down digestion process. It has dire consequences, especially for elderlies whose inner organs have slower process due to decreased functionalities over old age. If the blood circulation slows down nearing to a halt, the body stops functioning and it may result into fatality.

Eat bananas or avocadoes every morning before breakfast, or apples (for another healthy alternative) before breakfast.
